Youtube made a blog post about the recommendation system and borderline content. Important signals for video recommendation are clicks, watchtime, survey responses and engagements.
Frequent questions about the system have also been answered in a video. Most views come from the home page and related tab instead of the subscriber feed.
🔧 Platform Updates
Youtube's community posts will be expanded to channels with more than 500 subs. It has been a powerful feature to increase reach and engagement on channels.
Youtube is also launching a podcast titled "The Upload: The Rise of the Creator Economy”. It will feature the behind-the-scenes of businesses built by creators of varying sizes.
Tiktok announced its first virtual business event TikTok World on Sept. 28. It will introduce the platform solutions and teach brands how to make tiktoks instead of ads.
🥑 Hispanic Heritage Month
Twitch is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on the platform. Hispanic and Latino creators and events will be featured in daily front-page streams.
Tiktok is also celebrating through hashtags and new creative stickers. Some creators will be featured in the Creator Spotlight Series.
Youtube's event includes special content across the platform, playlists and the Youtube Spotlight channel. New Spanish language content was also recently introduced to Youtube TV.
